Changes to SWIFT Payment Initiation via PIS API

In accordance with the changes to SWIFT requirements and the implementation of the ISO 20022 standard for cross-border payments, as well as the requirement to provide the beneficiary’s structured address when initiating a SWIFT payment, effective November 15, 2026, the following validations will be introduced for transactions initiated via the PIS API:

  1. Beneficiary Address Validation
For interbank SWIFT payments, the PIS API will validate the presence and completeness of the beneficiary’s full address in the creditorAddress field.
  2. Beneficiary Bank Details Validation
For beneficiary accounts that do not have an IBAN and/or SWIFT/BIC code, the PIS API will validate the beneficiary bank’s name and address provided in the creditorAgentName field.
